Pictures of the Dark is a brand new collection from my friend Simon Bestwick. The book contains about 100,000 words of Bestwick's fiction, which combines pulp horror sensibilities with social realism to produce something scary, relevant, and often heartbreakingly tragic.
In my opinion, Simon is the real deal, and that's why I agreed to write the introduction to this major retrospective collection of his work. Do yourself a favour and pick up a copy. I can't recommend the book highly enough.

Looking forward to this arriving, just finished reading Islington Crocodiles by Paul Meloy. It's a strong period for UK short story collections in my opinion.
