Happy Chrimbo
I'd just like to wish that one kind person who reads my website a very Happy Christmas. You know who you are; yeah, you over there in the nice red anorak and National Health glasses. Don't try to hide - I've seen you.

Strange Tales III
I've just heard that the fabulous Tartarus Press voume Strange Tales III is now in stock. The anthology features my Thomas Usher story THE GOOD, LIGHT PEOPLE.
Go here, and purchase! Tartarus
That Was The Year, That Was.
So, 2009 was a very good year for me.
There was another appearance in The Mammoth Book of Best New Horror. My work received four nominations in seperate catagories of the British Fantasy Awards (and won none, btw). I saw the release of my first mass market novel, HUNGRY HEARTS. I made two major anthology sales (more details on these next year) and finalised things on PIECES OF MIDNIGHT, my forthcoming collection for Ash Tree Press. This month the acclaimed Black Static magazine has me as their featured author. And I took a huge step forward with an exciting publishing deal I can't talk about just yet...again, more details next year, when the contracts are signed.
I'm not crowing here, just taking a step back to see what I accomplished. After all, I'm only in competition with myself.
Not a bad year, then. But hopefully 2010 will be even better.
In other news, the Abaddon Books blog currently features my short-short HUNGRY CHRISTMAS.
And finally, I've just come across this wonderfult review of HUNGRY HEARTS, which demonstrates that the reviewer really understood what I was trying to do with the book:

I'll probably treasure this quote forever: "Dashiel Hammett writing Mills and Boon for the Graveyard set".

A Quick Update
I haven't posted anything here for a little while, but that's just because I've been busy writing.
This month I'm the Featured Author in the excellent Black Static magazine, with in-depth reviews, an interview, and a brand new story.
Also, I've just had some amazing news regarding future novels. I can't announce anything yet, but watch this space for more details...I'm very excited about this one.
Meanwhile, I'm still slogging away at THE END, my short novel about the effects of a weird suicide virus for Ian Whates' fabulous Newcon Press.
