Back in the Saddle

I've been quiet for a while. Which is probably a good thing, according to my missus.

The novel's limping along, but because it's coming slowly I feel that I'm producing some really good stuff. It's certainly going to be my best novel yet - and that's my aim, after all: to make each one better than the last. So, yes, slowly but surely I'm getting there.

In other news, it's now safe to annouce that I've sold a story to Jon Oliver for the forthcoming Solaris anthology The End of the Line. This promises to be a rather special book, and I was thrilled to be asked to contribute to such a high-profile mass market project.

I also have a story in another high-profile anthology, but I'm not allowed to talk about it yet.

And finally, I'm limbering up to start work on the first Concrete Grove novel for Solaris. I'll move on to this as soon as I finish the current Angry Robot book.

I've also started running again. Fatness and stress management are my two reasons for this, and I just went for my first little jog today. I'm hoping to get fit in time to climb Helvellyn with fit-as-a-butcher's-dog SF author Andy Remic some time in May...so wish me luck!

It's all go, and it's still a whole lot of fun.
