The Grieving Stones - Spectral Press

I've had a few messages via this website requesting information regarding refunds for pre-orders of the now-dead Spectral Press edition of The Grieving Stones. (The book has now found a new home at Horrific Tales, as I announced on an earlier blog post.)

I was under the impression everyone had been refunded. This kind of misinformation seems typical of the way the whole situation with Spectral Press is being handled. Shoddy. Very shoddy.

The man to contact regarding any issues with Spectral Press is Gary Compton. I've heard nothing from him since pulling the book and he's blocked me on Facebook for reasons which, to me, are unclear, so good luck getting anything out of him...I've given up on receiving any of the meagre royalties I'm owed from a different project.

Here are the email addresses I have for him, anyway:

Info@garycompton.co.uk

spectral@ticketyboopress.co.uk

Edit:

For those who aren't fully aware of what went on with Spectral Press (if you aren't on Facebook you might have missed the drama; that's where those involved chose to play it all out), my mate Simon Bestwick wrote this very long and informative blog on the situation:

You seem to have forgotten I am doing this for free. I didn't create the mess, nor are I responsible for it. I am just trying to help.

There is no way I have the time to trawl through Simon's Paypal account to find who has had what, remember I have my own business to run! So have been waiting for emails. Many have come in and been dealt with. Considering the debt is down from 8K to 1k I would hardly call that shoddy.

Forward on anything you know about.

Regards Gary

Just get them to email in to spectral@ticketyboopress.co.uk and they will be responded to!

I already have fell behind in what I should be doing for TBP so they need to contact me through that address!

Cheers

Initially, I was completely ignored. I provided every Paypal transaction no., amounts owed for multiple books, and was eventually told it could take up to twelve months to receive a refund, provided that SMJ could find the money for it. It seems that what's said in public and what happens in private are two different things. Let's face it, customers are being given the run around until they give up and go away. Personally, I am on the verge of taking legal action.

Thanks for posting the link to blog post. It provides some context for my own experiences as a customer (which are accurately reflected).
